Treatment Types at Rebound

Massage:

A general deep tissue massage can benefit absolutely everyone by increasing blood circulation, releasing tension in the body, increasing muscle flexibility and joint mobility and decreasing stress through a reduction of stress hormones, promoting relaxation. As an IMTA (Irish Massage Therapists Association) member you can be assured that you will receive a massage tailored to your specific needs when you book in for a massage with Rebound injury clinic. Massage treatments can be used to treat stress, anxiety, insomnia, DOMS (Delayed onset muscle soreness), soft tissue injuries, muscle tightness, lower back pain and many other conditions. If you would like to book in for a massage use our massage therapy appointment type when booking.

Sports massage:

A sports specific massage is a great recovery tool for the average gym user right through to elite athletes. A sports massage uses a blend of massage techniques that aim to help muscles recover quickly and enhance sporting performance. To book in for a sports massage you should choose either a 30 or 60min sports therapy treatment.

Sports Therapy:

A sports therapy treatment can be 30 or 60 minute session that will include a consultation, physical examination and assessment and treatment. Throughout your treatment many techniques may be used depending on your concern or injury. Massage, dry needling, maitland and mulligan mobilizations (Grade 1-4), advanced forms of flexibility training, injury rehabilitation programmes, return to sport protocols and much more.

Dry Needling:

Dry needling is a technique using sterile acupuncture needles to release trigger point knots in the muscles. These needles are 8 times smaller than used for vaccinations, so they generally don’t cause pain worse than the symptoms you are already having. The aim of dry needling is to relieve muscle tightness and pain as well as improving the flexibility of the muscle. It is particularly effective in treating muscles which don’t release well through foam rolling and stretching and with muscles which fatigue fast during exercises training. Dry needling has been clinically proven to be an extremely useful tool, anyone experiencing pain can feel a benefit from dry needling. If you wish to book in for a dry needling session you can choose either a 30 or 60 min Sports therapy appointment as dry needling is included in this cost.

Injury Rehabilitation:

As a sports therapist my focus is always on rehabilitation and recovery to encourage optimal performance without pain and with minimal risk of reinjury. There is a focus on research-based programmes to increase muscle flexibility, strength, proprioception, core stability and using sport specific exercises to ensure the athlete is ready for a return to sport post injury. If you are looking for injury treatment and rehabilitation you are best booking for 30min sports therapy treatments.

Mobility training:

Muscle flexibility is important in day to day life as well as for an athletic population. Muscle Energy Techniques and Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation are both advanced forms of flexibility training which can be used throughout your sports therapy treatments. Along with static and dynamic stretching your range of motion is guaranteed to improve.
